The boat launch itself is nice. Having been recently redone from the ground up it is a gem among boat launches. The restrooms are nice and clean, and the grounds are kept immaculate. However, if you stop to use the restroom, even if it's for 2 minutes, you can guarantee that a sheriff's deputy will be there to issue you a ridiculous ticket for not paying the boat launch fee. Even if you aren't using the boat launch. When you call the number on the ticket and finally get a hold of someone, that person will inform you that you don't need to pay the boat launch fee for merely using the restroom. And should you happen to see that same sheriff's deputy that issued said citation, and advise him of the information you were given per the number on the citation that he handed you, he will tell you that if you speak to them again that the sheriff's deputies would like for them to contact them to let them know what they want them to enforce and what they don't. (Scratches head in confusion) Pardon my cynicism, but I'm pretty sure with resources as tight as they claim to be this year, the sheriff's department in Yolo county could certainly direct their efforts and resources in a more necessary direction than scoping out the boat launch to issue tickets..... For passenger cars...... That clearly aren't pulling a boat........ That are parked in the restroom parking stalls........ That you're not required to pay for..... That don't have any signage posted either way.......... Unless that was also included in the patriot act legislation and I missed something. (Add a double shot of sarcasm here)
The boat launch is nice.
The recreation area is nice.
The scenery is nice.
The locals are nice.
The fishing is nice.
The being on alert every second you're there trying to relax with your family or use the restroom, because you're unsure if at any second you're going to be detained by the sheriff's department and issued a citation for non-posted rules, that by there own admission don't even exist........ Not so much.

P.S. bring your mosquito spray.
Or a fiery halo to surround you while you're there......... Bring the fiery halo. ?

Used to be more old school looking but it did get upgraded looks a bit cleaner and more secure then before.they made some modifications on the ramps and they put a new building in I believe it's a bathroom. One thing you will run in to is lots of cats and racoons.

I landed here in October and launched again the next morning on my way to Sacramento. Nice little ramp and the area was clean and quiet. The line in the water on Google Street View is me.

The boat launch was kind of packed, lots of fishermen out but that's to be expected. Great spot to launch, lots of amenities, grounds kept up and easy launch access.
